South West France, the Gers is a hidden gem known by some as the new Tuscany. The local cathedrals, citadels and bastides reflect the great architecture of the Middle Ages, together with many other cultural and tourist sites.
This gastronomic area of France is world famous, (as you might have seen recently on Rick Stein's French Odyssey) so why not come and try some traditional Gascon cuisine in one of the many restaurants in the area. The local vineyards offer a wide variety of "Côtes du Gascogne" wines plus the more famous Armagnac - as they say here in Gascony, pleasure comes in three colours - red, white and rosé. You may have difficulty sticking to 21 units a week !
